Your Relationship with... Your Family

Many family issues can be addressed by parents by either exploring their own relationship more fully, and/or seeking support in parenting. In this way there is no need to involve their children.

However, there are times where a child's behaviour becomes an issue and parents want help to resolve it. It can then be hard to work out who to see, so I have included some experts I rate on My Trusted Network.

Step families

Step families bring particular challenges as everyone has different needs that are not always obvious and often contradictory, and there is a lot to resolve. It’s hard to compare one step family to another as they are so diverse, each has its own unique combination of parents and children living together with widely varying access arrangements. It is normal to need support and there are some great resources available at Being a Step Parent.
